We're big fans of ultra-portable notebooks here at TrustedReviews - oodles of power is all well and good but a notebook needs to be portable and we're more than happy to sacrifice a little power for portability. Unfortunately most of the best ultra-portables are very expensive, making them more of a luxury item than the commodity we wish they were. |

At an HP press briefing I attended last year, HP representatives took much pride explaining how the company had a new found focus on the consumer. Its new products would be more liveable with, exude more personality and be more desirable. None of that is really evident in the Compaq nc6400, and actually that's no bad thing at all. There's no reason it should posses those qualities either, as the nc6400 is clearly a business notebook. |

Sony has always had a knack for designing good looking notebooks and, whether it’s an ultra-portable or a desktop replacement, it delivers on a regular basis. There was a time not all that long ago when the idea of a Dell product, whether it be a server, desktop or notebook, shipping with an AMD processor was simply laughable. So synonymous was it with Intel, with the highly visible Dell advertisements all featuring the infamous Intel chime, that the average consumer could be forgiven for thinking Intel and Dell to be one of the same. Yet, despite many years of ignoring the better performing AMD alternatives, Dell made the surprise decision in May last year to start using AMD technology in its machines for the first time. |

I first looked at the Samsung Q35 back in June where it grabbed itself a Recommended award. The original Q35 offered light weight, solid specification and very impressive value for money. About half a year later I'm looking at the Q35 again, but with a fair few upgrades - can Samsung make its updated Q35 as attractive today as the original was six months ago? |
